At Castle Country Assisted Living, we believe in coming from a place of gratitude, and in that spirit, we’d like to thank Sandy Huffman, our longest running volunteer! For the past six years, Sandy has visited Victorian House multiple times a week to assist with lunch service and spend time with residents. “I was touched by a personal experience, and since then, promised myself I would step up and volunteer when I retired,” she explains when asked about why she began volunteering. Her favorite part about volunteering is making the residents smile and joking around with them. “They are sweet, even the grouchy ones,” she says with a laugh.

For the past six years, CCAL has been lucky to have Sandy as such a dedicated volunteer. You can find her at lunch time helping residents find their seats, serving them lunch, filling coffee cups and talking to them about their day. When she’s not volunteering at CCAL, she enjoys spending time at her church group’s Bible study and golfing with her grandchildren.

If you’re interested in volunteering at CCAL, see our listings on JustServe.org or contact Reagan Weber, Resident Services Manager at 303-482-5552 or reaganweber@davec12.sg-host.com!
