Summer is upon us…

The season of warmth and sunshine is finally here! June brings the first official day of summer on the 21st, we celebrate our fathers on the 19th and we begin to use our grills and savor the weather outside. As we say goodbye to May, we remember our Military who have died in service to us with a Memorial Day barbeque at each house.

The residents at Castle Country have been enjoying our freshly planted gardens, with flowers and veggies growing nicely in the warm sun. We have started more outdoor activities like lemonade and tea on the patios and taking daily walks. We look forward to more days in the sun! There are some fun events and trips this month, please be sure to check out our website for a full calendar!Remember you can stay current with the latest CCAL news by following us on Facebook. You can also check out our website at Please leave a review for us on Google, Facebook or We would love to hear from you!

June Spotlight: Community Partners

Castle Country has been a part of the Douglas County community since 1989, when our founders realized their dream and began searching for a home to care for seniors. In the years since opening, we have worked with many different companies, organizations, groups and people. Networking is a key element in our industry and relationship between other assisted livings, nursing homes, home health/hospice companies and service providers is extremely important.

We are proud members of both the Castle Rock and Parker Chambers, the Douglas County Senior Council, Colorado Assisted Living Association (CALA) and the Colorado Activity Professional Association (CAPA). We attend these councils, meetings and events for multiple reasons, the most important of which is to learn and continue our education on the field as a whole so that each of our three homes are up to date and our care is the best it possibly can be.This month in particular, we have partnered with To The Rescue, another non-profit organization who’s mission is to provide service and care to people in their community. This organization started by helping people with disabilities in their day to day lives and they have since branched out into the wonderful world of seniors!  They provide transportation, home health, skilled nursing and physical therapy. They recently took a group of our residents to Yogi Bera’s Jellystone Park in Larkspur to visit the baby goats and we had a great time! Their staff are so kind and helpful and we look forward to working with them again! Please visit their website for more detail:

We are hosting a Summer Garden Party at our Valley House on June 24th for all community partners, family members, staff and friends from 4pm to 6pm. We would love to have you come and see our newly planted garden, meet our new Marketing Manager, Erica and enjoy some treats with us. Please RSVP to Erica Krause at
